How are designs and images put onto snowboards and wakeboards.?

August 6, 2010 - 2:22 pm 1 Comment

I was wondering how people can put designs onto snowboards and wakeboards etc. I know there is a way to silk screen them, but is there another way with an adhesive sort of paper? I thought i saw something like that.

well the tops are like a big sticker and it comes up but you DONT want to do that. you will wreck it and make them week. i would just stick to stickers and leave the top layer alone.

How many designs can I do with 200grams of henna powder?

I am considering on buying a henna kit. I found a kit that has 200 grams of henna powder. Does anyone know how many designs I can do with that much powder?

With 200 grams of pure henna powder you can make up to 8 nice size cones. You don’t want the cones to be too big that its difficult to hold in your hand like a pencil.

Each 25 gram cone will do 30 large to 50 small henna designs. If you are new to doing henna then you will also waste a bit of the paste just getting the hang of it.

I get my henna tattoo kits from Henna Hut, they have great quality paste. You can get the kits in powder form or premixed cones.

I have done a lot of sketching and I am getting my sewing machine over christmas. Where can I send my designs to, to make designers see it?
I live in Hong Kong so i don’t think i’ll be able to travel to New York.
Can you give me sources as to where I can email them?

Maybe to there like headquaters or something ?
Try to get like your designs noticed by other people as well.
Like create a logo, and a name, and if people like your clothes and start wearing it then it’ll just spread by itself, mouth-to-mouth.

What are the best websites to sell my own clothing designs?

August 6, 2010 - 2:11 pm 1 Comment

I already have a degree in fashion design and I am looking to get a head start in exposing my designs to the public and to later possibly open my own boutique. Please Help.

There are various ways you can start your fashion design business.

If you haven’t had a business yet, and are just exploring the market and seeking for opportunities, the easiest way I would suggest is to start listing your design on some of the ecommerce websites, E.g. EBay etc. Once you have started your own store online, you can slowly building your brand and experiences.

However, if you do have some savings, and are seriously considering about join the fashion design business, you might try the following:
1. Do some research online about how other fashion designers been doing? Where do they sell their design? Who are their clients, suppliers and partners?
2. Do some market test: Contact the local clothing retailers, factories, and send them your designs.
2. Register a company and own brand.
3. Open your own fashion design website
4. Start marketing yourself online using search engine marketing and social media marketing.
5. By doing so, more and more people will start visiting your website, which will increase your brand awareness. In the meanwhile, you might also have already forged a good public relationship with your potential customers. Eventually, you get more and more sales.
6. Keep learning, knowledge in practical is power!
7. Have faith, never give up.

These are just my two-cents. But I believe, internet has created enormous opportunities for small businesses. As long as you have commitment and engaged appropriate strategies, success is almost guaranteed!

Good luck!

P.S, let me know if you want to know more about marketing yourself online, I’m more than happy to help you.

What is the best site for tattoo designs?

August 6, 2010 - 2:11 pm 3 Comments

I am looking for a site with the largest amount of tattoo designs that you DON’T have to pay per month for.

I recommend http://www.bmezine.com
However, since you said you didn’t want to pay per month I assume you may already know about that site.

Still, if you haven’t checked it out you should. They give you like 20 pages on each section of free viewing, and if you have pictures of your tattoos and submit them, they give you a free account :)

How do I get my fashion designs to launch?

August 6, 2010 - 2:02 pm 1 Comment

As a hobby I like designing clothes, I have many designs planned out on paper & my friends and family said they’re really good and I should send them off. I dunno what to do though, they might not be good enough for me to get a career in it but its worth a try. What do I do, i don’t have the outfits made they’re only designs on paper with anitations, so where do I send them or something? Any advice?

You should definately try getting material together and making sure your sketches are as professional as you can get them!! Try making dummy designs with material if you can??? Then when you’ve got a professional portfolio together you can start the even harder bit. This is because no one will take you seriously otherwise!!!

Maybe also get a book which might help on designing cothes?

Alsoooo…have faith in yourself…dont be pesimistic and say "they might not be good enough to get a career in" – if you don’t believe in your designs…no one else will either!!

Good luck and take care
