When will developers be able to fully utilize the PlayStation 3’s power?

What is the life expendency of the PS3?

Will game developers make great game for the PS3 before the PS4 comes out?

What features would the PS4 have? Will it be forth getting if you have already a PS3?

According to Sony, the PS3 has a life expectancy of 10 years, but that’s a little over estimation. The PS3 will probably be around 6 to 7 years, much like the PS2.

Of course developers are going to make great games for the PS3 before the PS4 comes out. Take a look at Heavenly Sword. It’s a game that’s taking advantage of the cell processor. When the enemies are far away, they get treated as one group, and as they come close, they start to separate and form separate groups that act individually. Finally, when they confront Nariko, each enemy acts individually with its own strategy.

The PS4 will probably have a new storage format, much like how the PSX uses CD, PS2 DVD, and PS3 Blu-ray.

Is it worth getting? Sure, but if you don’t want to shell out the money, wait a little longer, near the end of this year or so

Are the incentives developers offering nowadays viable investment?

August 6, 2010 - 2:08 pm 1 Comment

Some developers in Central Florida are giving buyers 35,000- 40,000 back after closing, some are providing guaranteed rental income and no HOA or tax payments. Are these safe investment to get into? If we get that cash back plus have the unit rented, it allows us to be in a positive cash flow situation, pay down the mortgage, and ride the appreciation? seems too good of a deal??? any thoughts on those developers in Orlando and Tampa with AMAZING incentiveS?

Builder blow out incentives are crazy right now. In my area, one builder is giving away corvettes. Another is offering no payments unitl 2009.

Have a buyer’s agent run some comparables. If the incentives are within the comps, jump on it.

FYI, generally, cash back at closing isnt allowed. That would have to be in another form, such as no payments until?, or free upgrades, or no closing costs.

What are web developers using these days?

August 6, 2010 - 2:08 pm 5 Comments

I can think of XML, Javascript, AJAX, JSP, ASP … What else are developers using?

What gets sent to the browser is usually flash, html ,javascript and css (Client side technologies) .. XML is usually used in this scenario by exposing server technologies through AJAX, REST, SOAP and transformed using XSLT

Server side processing creates client side languages and this will also have XML, but here you have Java, JSP, PHP, ASP, Ruby, Perl

And these run on the servers Apache/Tomcat/IIS to name a few.

But hopefully: Web developers will stick to using the appropriate content management systems (e.g. WordPress for blogs, Joomla/Alfresco/OpenCMS for websites)

The bane of the internet is do it yourself notepad and php programmers!

Are there any recruiters out there who specialize for Business Developers and Buyers job positions?

August 6, 2010 - 5:32 am 1 Comment

If someone has a retail background and is looking for a job as a Business Developer or a Buyer where should they start looking? As an IT person, I can go to IT recruiters and Monster etc. What about Business Developers or Buyers positions?

Thanks

If there are organizations you can join in those fields, chances are great you will find a recruiter that way.
Also, MRI (Management Recruiters International) sometimes has positions like these listed.

Where should I post a position for a Developer in Canada – Where do Canadian Developers look for jobs?

August 5, 2010 - 8:08 pm 2 Comments

I work at a company in Canada and we’re having trouble recruiting Developers. I was wondering where you look, and where you’d recommend looking.

We post on Workopolis and Monster, what other sites do you recommend – any unlikely suggestions for recruitment – forums, ads in newsletters, blogs, prof organizations, etc?

Do you use Dice? Toronto IT jobs? Communitech?

You can also hire freelance programmers from web site like http://www.getafreelnacer.com/ . They come 75% cheaper than regular employees.

What is the new product name for the old MicroSoft Office Developers Tool Kit?

August 5, 2010 - 8:07 pm 1 Comment

I am looking to develop Microsoft Office applications and resell them. In 1995, I purchased a packet from Microsoft called the MS Office Developers Tool Kit (SDK) and can not find an upgrade to perform this task. I am also unable to find a contact number for MicroSoft to inquire.

Are you talking about the VS2005 Tools for Office from Microsoft?

software unreliability & what developers are doing to improve the reliability of their software?

August 5, 2010 - 5:38 pm 1 Comment

It is common knowledge that software has bugs. Not only do users most computers users accept this but they even expect it by regularly download patches to fix this, that or the other bug. Given this level of software unreliability, how can we trust it to perform reliably in life-threatening situations? Investigate and report on the extent to which it is a problem and what developers are doing to improve the reliability of their software?
how we can trust on software in life threading situations

I have an idea. why dont you do your own homework rather than trying to get other people to do it for you?

"investigate and report"?

no thanks.
