I’ve got a 6ft tree up, a bit of tinsel around the tv and christmas candles on the fireplace, oh and 2 raindeers on the windowsill.
My house looks like the North Pole exploded! I have a 7 1/2 foot tree, and I’ve been collecting ornaments since 1974–you can hardly see the tree now. I also collect snowmen. Besides the ones on the tree, I had 64 snowmen at last count. I also have a few angels, Precious Moments, 2 nativities, a teddy bear band, and a scene made from shaped candles that belonged to my grandparents. But believe it or not, I don’t have a thing outside!

Hi sxxxystanggirl84, I would go to a "Farmer’s Market" or maybe Costco/Sam’s Club and purchase several pineapples and coconuts(fresh). Next, grab your garden clippers and start driving around your neighborhood looking for large exotic leaves, palm trees, bright flowers etc…(apartment complexes are a great place). Cut a couple dozen of each, place in plastic garbage bag and "mist" them well (store in a "very" cool location). FYI this can be done a day or two before the party. Hit several "Thrift/Craft" stores for purchases like hawaiian shirts/fabric, cheap silk lei’s etc…I would use the hawaiian shirts as your table cloth ie; randomly drape/overlapping each other, then use your large leaves underneath serving bowls/platters and "tuck" in fresh flowers all around. The fresh pineapples/coconuts (1 of each) could be placed throughout the serving areas and/or at bar area. You can drape/hang the silk lei’s just about anywhere ie; lamps, plants, trees etc…I hope this gives you some ideas! Mahalo…Moonchild P.S. Since its summer… you might want to add a tropical theme to your home. For example, if you have a garden or an outdoor patio then you can place a few artificial palm trees here and there. You can redecorate your bathroom with tropical curtains etc. There are many things you can do. All you need to do is to search on Amazon and see what kind of home decorations come. I also found a pretty good palm tree decorations website you can start off with.

A few years ago I made what I called "101 reasons". It was jar and inside on 101 slips of paper, I wrote on each piece a reason why I loved him. All different. Can be done easily with the computer. Get different colored paper. On each one I hole punched a hole and put a slip of ribbon on each one. Makes it look fancier. If you really really love the guy. Make 365 reasons, one fore each day of the year. Takes some work but really appreciated because it shows it took time and alot of effort. Anyway, thats what I did. Didn’t have a lot of money. Bought a card with it.
