What are the chemical properties of atoms whose valence shells are filled with electrons?
A) They form ionic bonds in aqueous solutions.
B) They form covalent bonds in aqueous solutions.
C) They are stable and chemically unreactive or inert.
D) They exhibit similar chemical behaviors.
E) C and D only
which of the choices is right? please explain y to me i need help!

The answer is c. Elements such as argon have full valence shells and will not lose or gain electrons making them inert

How to add properties to external pictures in visio?

August 6, 2010 - 2:05 pm 1 Comment

Usually we add information about shapes in Visio diagram by using Properties .
But if get the picture from outside the visio i’m not able to find " PROPERTIES " for that picture to add information abut the picture.
So how to add properties to external pictures in Visio?

What properties does petroleum have that allow it to be the hydrocarbon of choice for many of our energy needs?

What properties does petroleum have that allow it to be the hydrocarbon of choice for many of our energy needs? Can you think of any other substance that has these properties which could be used as a substitute for petroleum?

Easy to obtain, ie cheap and plentiful, is the most important. Lots of energy content is also important.

There is no other substance that can be pumped from the ground at very low cost that has any energy content, except perhaps natural gas, and that can be considered a component of petroleum.

You could argue that energy from Uranium is also cheap and plentiful, but it’s not a hydrocarbon as your question specifies.

What happens to the properties of elements as one progresses across a row of the periodic table? Down a column

August 6, 2010 - 1:57 pm 3 Comments

What happens to the properties of elements as one progresses across a row of the periodic table? Down a column?

left to right across a row there are trends of
Ionization energy: increases
electonegativity: increases
atomic radius: smaller
Nuculear radius: bigger

(it would appear that the atom’s radius would increase; this is NOT the case!!!!! the more protons the stronger the pull on electron cloud and the smaller the cloud will be. This means the radius of the atom will shrink as the radius of the nucelus grows. guy above is incorrect.)

Top to bottom in the columns
these will have the same charge:
WIll bound in same ratio as others in column:
Atomic mass and radius will increase:

How does the electrolyte properties of table salt change when it is slowly added to distilled water in?

August 6, 2010 - 1:53 pm 1 Comment

I am in the process of completing a chemistry lab that deals with testing strong and weak electrolytes when added to water.

How does the electrolyte properties of table salt (NaCl) change when it is slowly added to distilled water in small amounts? Does the solution start out a strong electrolyte and remain a strong electrolyte? Does it become stronger as more salt is added? Any help is appreciated!

Distilled water doesn’t conduct electricity. NaCl dissociates (for all intents and purposes) at 100%. As you add NaCl to the water more ions are forming, which allow for better conduction of electricity. Water, by itself, is a terrible conductor of electricity; ions dissolved in the water make it a good conductor. A solid isn’t as good a conductor as an ion solution is if I remember correctly

What are some of the best ways to market investment properties online or offline, residential and commercial?

August 6, 2010 - 1:52 pm 1 Comment

As a real estate agent specializing in investment properties, residential and commercial, I would like to know what are the best ways to market my services and products. I have access to residential properties that will cashflow with almost no money down and that are located in high-growth and high-appreciation areas, particularly Branson Missouri. The commercial properties have a strong cap rate and very competitive with the rest of the nation. I welcome any suggestions and, if it is something you tried yourself in the past, I would appreciate a brief explanation as to the results obtained. Thank you in advance everyone!

I have been very successful using EBAY.
