This is the GOLD MASTER firmware meaning the FINAL release before the official one (A.K.A. it’s the SAME thing!)

Note The Following:
1. THIS DOESN’T work for iPhone 2g (first gen) OR iPod Touch 1g
2. This jailbreak that I demonstrate ONLY works with the iPhone 3g and iPod Touch 2 gen NON MC! – Google the difference between MC and non MC if you don’t already know!

Steps:

1. Download ALL the files from bellow!

2. Set device into Recovery (hold home and power for about 20 seconds)

3. Go into iTunes and press and hold shift then left click on restore

4. Pick the iOS 4 gm you downloaded (firmware 4.0 Gold Master)

5. Let iTunes do the rest

Steps For jailbreaking (iPhone 3g and iPod Touch 2 gen non MC ONLY):

1. Download Files from bellow

2. Open redsn0w and point it at the 4.0 GM Firmware that you downloaded!

5. Set custom boot and recovery if you want! Also uncheck enable multitasking and custom backgrounds IF YOU WANT TO!

6. Continue ONLY when device is powered off and plugged it!

7. When it prompts you: hold down home button for 5 seconds then hold down power and home for 10 and then let go of power and continue holding home until it goes to the next screen!

8. Wait for it to finish then REBOOT!

9. Go to cydia (will have white icon at first) and refresh data and all sources will be there and it will fix the whit icon! (To get the “changes” portion of cydia to work look below but it VERY RARLEY HAPPENS!)

10. ENJOY your iDevice on 4.0!

Steps (to get cydia CHANGES to work): After you add the first source and get all the packages and sources to work I’m sure you want the changes to work right?

1. Reboot (after adding first source from above)

2. Open cydia

3. Add ANOTHER source (must be different)

4. Go to changes tab

5. THERE YOU GO!
